Kindful Come back to yourself

Kindful is more than a meditation app. It is an AI-supported mindfulness companion. It works with personalised, trauma-sensitive practice and guided inquiry.

Each interaction is generated in real time, responding to whatever a person brings in the moment. Kindful supports emotional self-regulation, groundedness and insight, creating space for kinder and wiser responses.

A moment with Kindful

It begins with what is actually here.

Kindful starts with your experience, offering a brief practice attuned to what you've shared, to ground you and help your nervous system regulate. It then guides you to explore further, with perspectives of your choice to deepen your understanding. Each session takes 3–12 minutes.

An illustrative exchange written by our team, not a real person's session.

I have a meeting with my manager in ten minutes and my chest is tight. I keep replaying what went wrong last week.

That sounds like a lot to carry into a meeting. Before we look at last week, would you be willing to notice your feet on the floor for a moment? Just the contact, and the weight of your body in the chair.

OK. My feet feel heavy. The tightness is still there.

That's fine. It doesn't need to go anywhere. Stay with three natural breaths, letting the tightness be there alongside the weight in your feet. Then tell me what you notice.

It's a bit softer. I'm less caught in last week. I can think about what I actually want to say.

Kindful can make mistakes. Please check important info.

How a session unfolds

Responding to the person, not running a programme.

Two people with the same difficulty may receive very different support, depending on what they are experiencing and how they are meeting it.

  1. What's present

Sensations, emotions, thoughts or a situation, as you describe them.

  2. What's central

What seems most influential beneath the surface.

  3. How it's held

Fighting, avoiding, collapsing, or meeting it with curiosity.

  4. What might help

    Grounding, steadiness, self-compassion or perspective.

  5. A brief practice

Chosen from that understanding, not from a fixed script.

  6. Reflection

Noticing what shifted, however subtly, and carrying it into your day.

The design principles

A different relationship with experience.

Kindful does not try to change thoughts or feelings directly. Every conversation, prompt and feature supports four principles that build on one another.

Body as anchor

Awareness settles into the body first: feet, seat, hands, breath. When the body feels like too much, Kindful can anchor in sound instead.

Experience as teacher

Kindful asks more than it tells. Your own direct experience becomes the source of learning.

Awareness as context

Thoughts, emotions and sensations can be experienced without becoming who you are.

Compassion as response

Kindness arises as a natural, wise way of relating to experience. It is never prescribed.
